Difference between Kajal and Eyeliner

Many women ask themselves what exactly the difference is between a kohl and an eyeliner. The answer is very simple. In this blog post, we will briefly explain what the difference is and which product you should apply where.
eyeliner on the lower lash line
A kajal is the name for a line on the lower lash line. Kajal pencils usually have a more compact consistency than eyeliner, ie they can be hard, soft, creamy, but are usually not liquid. Because of the lower lashes, drawing a line on the lower lash line with a liquid product is very difficult.
If you accentuate your lower lash line with a kajal, your eyes will have more contour towards the bottom and your eye area will have more expression.
Expert tip: Don't draw the eyeliner all the way to the inner corner of your eye, but leave the front 1/3 of your eye free. This will emphasize the outer corner of your eye and give your eyes a beautiful almond shape.
White eyeliner on the lower waterline - exception!
The opaque white eyeliner is an exception. It is ideal for making your eyes appear larger. To do this, apply the eyeliner in strokes along the lower waterline (on the inner edge). Since the inner edge of the eye is often very moist, we recommend that you use the white eyeliner twice - this way it will last all day.
eyeliner on the upper lash line
An eyeliner is the name for an eyeliner on the upper lash line. The eyeliner / eyeliner is applied from above onto the movable eyelid directly along the upper lash line. With an eyeliner you can draw focus to the upper lash line and to your upper eyelashes.
Expert tip: If you have chosen a dark color as eyeliner, do not draw it all the way to the inner corner of your eye, but leave the front 1/3 of your eye free. Alternatively, you can choose a light color as eyeliner for the front 1/3 of your eye, which will make your eyes appear larger and brighter.
Kajal on the upper waterline - Tightlining
You can also use the kajal on the upper waterline (tightlining). This will make your eyelashes appear thicker. However, applying the kajal on the inner upper lash line takes a little practice, as it tickles a little and makes you blink quickly.
If you want to try it out, be sure to use a black eyeliner pencil . This goes perfectly with black mascara and makes your eyelashes look thicker.
The COSLINE Kajal / Eyeliner can be used - as the name suggests - both as a kohl and as an eyeliner. For beginners, it is easier to use a kohl pencil as an eyeliner, as it is easier to correct than, for example, a liquid eyeliner. In addition, you can blend a kohl pencil better as an eyeliner if you want a softer line.
liquid eyeliner
A liquid eyeliner is more suitable for a precise, straight line. If you want to draw an eyeliner with a liquid eyeliner, the line has to be right and shouldn't be blurred. This takes a bit of practice.
Expert tip: It takes a little more practice to achieve the perfect liquid eyeliner. So try a liquid eyeliner whenever you have time and peace of mind, the result does not have to be perfect and you want to go out.

Hallo, ich finde Eure Schminktipps echt sehr hilfreich und alltagstauglich und habe mich dazu inspirieren lassen, auch mal andere Kajalfarben als schwarz auszuprobieren, was mir auch sehr gut gefällt. Womit ich mich aber trotzdem schwer tue, ist das Auftragen des Kajals. In Euren Videos sgeht das immer Rucki Zucki und sieht auf Anhieb perfekt aus. Aber mir sind irgendwie immer die unteren Wimpern „im Weg“, wodurch der Kajal ungerade/unregelmäßig verläuft und Klümpchen in den Wimpern hängen bleiben. Es spielt auch keine Rolle, ob ich es sozusagen von oben oder unten versuche. Mit Nachbessern mithilfe von Wattestäbchen krieg ich es dann schon immer einigermaßen hin, aber das ist schon immer etwas nervig.
Habt ihr einen ultimativen Tipp oder sind meine unteren Wimpern zu dick, o.ä.?

Ich mache das tightlining am oberen Wimpernkranz mit einem Eyeliner-Stift der wie ein Filzstift ist, also eigentlich ein flüssiger Eyeliner. Mein „Trick“: ich tupfe ganz viele kleine Punkte zwischen die Wimpern statt eine Linie an der oberen Wasserlinie. Mit ein wenig Übung geht das bald ruckzuck und es verdichtet auch die Wimpern. Ich finde es sieht gut aus und geht einfach, kitzelt nicht und ist dezent. Lidschatten, Kajal, Wimperntusche, fertig. Vielleicht könnt ihr ja auch mal so einen Eyeliner-„Filzstift“ machen.

Hallo, ich bin durch Facebook auf euch aufmerksam geworden, und war sehr angetan von den vielen Tipps und den guten Bewertungen der Anwenderinnen. Auch die die tollen Fotos und er nette Umgang in der Gruppe haben mich beeindruckt. Ich schminke mich selten, weil ich mit dem Ergebnis nie ganz zufrieden bin. Nach kurzem Überlegen habe ich mir Eyeliner/Shadow/Lippenstift und Liner bestellt. Ich finde die Stifte sehr schön und gut zu handhaben. Es hat direkt Spaß gemacht und ich habe mir tatsächlich gefallen. Das Ergebnis habe ich gepostet und viel Lob bekommen. Aber das Schönste war dass auf der Feier zu der ich mich geschminkt habe alle total begeistert waren und meinten wie toll ich doch aussehe. Seitdem schminke ich mich fast täglich. Vielen Dank euch, ich kann es nur allen weiterempfehlen.

Hallo, ich bin vor kurzem auf die Produkte aufmerksam geworden und habe schon einige Kajal bestellt. Die Farben ( ich benutze Blau) sind toll und endlich wieder etwas was ich sehr gut vertrage. Die Schminktips sind gut. Allerdings hätte ich gerne mal einen Tipp wie man die Augen kleiner schminken kann. Ich bin Brillenträger und die Augen wirken dadurch leider schon groß genug.

Als erstes möchte ich mich für die tollen Videos bedanken, sie sind sehr hilfreich. Bin nur durch Zufall auf euch “gestoßen”, bin aber seitdem dabei und probiere etliches aus.
Manchmal nicht so einfach, wie es bei euch aussieht…, aber ich spüre schon, dass Übung ganz wichtig ist, auch wenn mal etwas nicht so gelingt, kein Problem denke ich. Es macht sogar riesen Spaß!
Bin jetzt 68, habe mich schon immer etwas geschminkt, aber jetzt habe ich den Eindruck, hats mich so richtig “erwischt” – Alter spielt keine Rolle, man möchte ja auch noch gut aussehen. Danke für alles! Kristine

@ANJA – Vielen Dank für dein Feedback! Auf dem zweiten Bild siehst du den Kajal / Eyeliner Darkblue 118 und den Kajal / Eyeliner Champagner 114 im Innenwinkel. Ziehe den Kajal / Eyeliner Champagner 114 vom Innenwinkel am oberen Lid entlang und leicht über den Farbstrich Darkblue. So entsteht ein super schöner Verlauf :) Liebe Grüße, dein COSLINE Team
