Makeup for hooded eyelids over 60
At over 60 years old, you know what you want and what you don’t – you’ve tried a lot and know exactly what suits you. Still, it’s worth staying curious and trying new things – it keeps you young and vibrant.
The first tip for foundation for mature skin is: Less is more! It’s not about using as many products as possible, but the right ones – of good quality and with reliable effects. Especially when dealing with issues like hooded eyelids, fine lines, or slightly drier skin, carefully selected products are crucial. Here are a few tips we’ve put together on how to beautifully apply makeup at over 60:

Eyeliner for hooded eyelids

Even with hooded eyelids, you don’t have to give up eyeliner – quite the opposite! Even if it’s partially hidden when your eyes are open, it looks wonderful when you blink or look down. A softly applied line can make your lashes appear thicker, give your eyes more expression, and open up your gaze overall.
Don’t hesitate to try fresh colors – bright, clear shades like Seagreen or Lila create great accents and make your eyes shine. This instantly makes you look younger and fresher.

A line of eyeliner along the lower lash line adds extra definition – ideally applied only at the outer corner of the eye and along about two-thirds of the lower lash line. This opens up the gaze, makes the eye appear almond-shaped, and looks flattering. Avoid using deep black eyeliner, as it can make the eyes look smaller and often appears too harsh.

Conceal hooded eyelids
To visually conceal a hooded eyelid, often just a touch of Eyeshadow is enough – just enough to create a gentle shadow effect. Choose a warm brown shade for this. Brown looks soft and natural, suits every eye color, and is easy to combine with other colors.
Do not apply the color directly on the movable eyelid, but a little above it – exactly where the upper skin fold covers the lid when the eye is relaxed. This way, the shadow remains visible even when the eye is open. Start at the outer corner of the eye, work your way to about the middle of the lid, and gently blend the transitions upwards and outwards. Be careful not to paint beyond the imaginary line from the outer corner of the eye to the eyebrow. This soft shadow visually recedes the hooded eyelid and makes the eye appear fresher and more open.
HIGHLIGHTING EYEBROWS PROPERLY
Eyebrows frame your eyes and are therefore very important. The older you get, the fewer hairs you have in your eyebrows. They also become lighter and are barely visible. That’s why it’s especially important to emphasize your eyebrows in makeup after 60. Here are some valuable tips about eyebrows:

The right form
Make sure that you always emphasize your eyebrows naturally, always taking your own eyebrow shape as a guide. It may be that you already have some gaps in your eyebrows or that they have generally become a bit thinner. If you want to fill in your eyebrows, it is important that you only fill in the upper area - this visually lifts the eyes. If you were to fill in the lower area of your eyebrows, it would push your eye area downwards.
You can easily conceal gaps in your eyebrows by applying the eyebrow pencil to exactly those spots. Make sure that you only apply the color in strokes without applying too much pressure. Try holding the pencil a little to the side and applying little pressure. After applying, be sure to spread the color lightly with your finger so that the color lies nicely on the skin and hairs and it looks completely natural.

The color of the eyebrow pencil
For women over 60, the color of the eyebrow pencil is especially important. Even if your eyebrows are already gray, do not use a gray, dark brown or even black eyebrow pencil. That would make you look older and you want to look younger and fresher.
It is better to use a light brown shade that is not too strong and, above all, does not contain any red particles. The Chocolate 121 eyebrow pencil is perfect for this. The color is a natural brown-gray and therefore suits most women.

Lifting Effect
Concealer is not only for hiding dark circles – it can also be used specifically to lift the older eye area. Apply a touch of concealer directly in the middle under the eyebrow and blend it gently. This visually lifts the brow area, opens up the eyes, and works wonders especially for hooded eyelids.
You can also apply a small dab of concealer at the outer corner of the eye and blend it upwards. This creates a subtle lifting effect and makes the eyes look fresher.
