Step-by-Step to a Fresh Eye Look
Eye Make-up for Hooded Lids
Many women with hooded lids know the struggle: eyes can look smaller, tired or even a touch sad—though you don’t feel that way. With the right eye make-up, you can open up your gaze and enhance your natural glow.
This simple, step-by-step guide shows you how to disguise hooded lids with ease.
Step 1
Preparation: The Perfect Base for Your Eye Make-up
Before you start your eye make-up for hooded lids, gently blot your eyelid with a tissue to remove any excess oil that could affect the hold. Then apply an eyeshadow base – it helps the shadow adhere better and prevents it from settling into the crease.
Step 2
Dark Shades for Depth and an Open Look
The interplay of light and dark creates visual depth – a classic trick to disguise hooded lids and make the eye area look brighter. If you wear glasses, go for slightly stronger shades, as the lenses can soften contrasts. A light inner corner and defined lashes balance the look beautifully.
Gently lift your eyelid upwards. Now apply a medium to light brown shade – for example, the Eyeshadow Muskat 304 – trapezoid-shaped on the back part of the lid. The trapezoid must be applied up to above the cheekbone, so relatively high, so that you can still see the eyeshadow color even when looking straight ahead into the mirror, without lifting the eye as you do when applying makeup.
💡Tip: The COSLINE Eyeshadow Muskat 304 becomes smudge-proof after a short time. This makes it ideal for hooded eyelids, as nothing slips into the crease. Therefore, it’s best to fully finish one eye before starting the other. This way, you can perfectly blend the color before it dries, achieving soft transitions with long-lasting wear.
Now fill in the entire trapezoid and gently blend the colour with a small brush or your fingertip to avoid harsh edges. This creates a soft, natural transition. The darker shade adds depth and makes the mobile lid visually recede, giving more definition above the crease and making the eyes appear larger and more open.
Step 3
Add Light Accents for a Fresh, Bright Look
Apply a light eyeshadow – such as Eyeshadow Golden Sand 301 – to the inner corner and the front part of the lid to add brightness and freshness. Gently blend the colours together for a soft transition and a natural finish.
💡Tip: This step is especially important if you wear glasses. Lenses – particularly with progressive or short-sighted prescriptions – can make eyes appear smaller. A light eyeshadow balances this effect by reflecting light and bringing the eyes forward, making them look clear, open and radiant, even behind glasses.
A subtle highlighter under the brow works like a gentle lift. Use Eyeshadow Golden Sand 301 here as well to accentuate the brow area and create a fresh, lifted look. This simple step is especially helpful for women with hooded lids, as it visually lifts the eyes and gives the face a more awake appearance.
Step 4
Eyeliner for Hooded Eyes – Optional but Effective
A classic eyeliner can be tricky with hooded eyes, as a thick line often disappears into the crease or makes the eyes look smaller.
A softer alternative is tightlining: apply the eyeliner directly between the lashes – not above, but right at the root. This makes the lash line appear fuller, giving your eyes subtle definition while keeping the look natural.
💡Tip: Many women automatically reach for black, but on mature skin or lighter complexions, it can appear too harsh. The strong contrast may emphasise fine lines or shadows around the eyes. A softer shade like Aubergine looks warmer and more flattering, enhancing the lash line without weighing down the eye.
The result: more depth, more expression – yet completely natural. Perfect for hooded lids when you want definition without losing the lightness of your look.
Step 5
Eyeliner Tip for the Lower Lash Line
Instead of dark lines that make the eyes appear smaller, light or fresh shades – such as Eyeliner Seagreen 108 – create an open, lively look.
Draw a fine line along the lower lash line, but avoid getting too close to the inner corner – this keeps your eyes looking open and fresh. Don’t be afraid to experiment: some shades may seem bold at first, but once you lightly coat your lower lashes with mascara, the colour softens and blends beautifully into the overall look.
Depending on your eye colour, you can create radiance and depth with the right eyeliner shade. These tones reflect light and visually add space around the eyes – an effective way to disguise hooded lids and make your gaze appear more open.
Blue eyes
Eyeliner Ocean 115 – the soft blue makes your eyes look clearer and more radiant.
Green Eyes
Eyeliner Seagreen 108 – the fresh green shade beautifully enhances and brightens green eyes.
Brown Eyes
Eyeliner Libelle 120 – the cool turquoise adds a gentle contrast and makes your eyes look more awake.
Step 6
Lifted Lashes for an Open, Awake Look
A fresh, open look starts with well-groomed lashes. A mascara with a small brush, such as Mascara Black Wonderlash 93, is ideal – it allows for precise application, coats even fine or short lashes, and separates them cleanly without clumping. This way, you can build lift and volume without making the eyes look heavy or overdone.
💡 Tip: Apply the Mascara in gentle zigzag motions from the roots to the tips, focusing especially on the outer third of the lashes. This visually opens up the eye, making the gaze appear more awake and slightly lifted – a simple but effective trick for hooded eyelids.
Step 7
Lifting Effect with Concealer
A concealer can do more than just cover dark circles – used correctly, it works like a subtle mini-lift. Especially with hooded lids, applying a touch of light at the outer corner of the eye helps create an instant lifting effect.
Apply a small dot of Concealer 920 just above the outer corner of your eye and gently blend it upwards and outwards. This creates the illusion of a lifted eye area – making your gaze appear fresher, more open and awake, without anyone noticing why.
Lightly tap the concealer in with your fingertip – this helps it blend seamlessly into the skin, subtly lifting the outer eye area with no visible edges or mask-like effect.
Step 8
Setting & Long-Lasting Hold
Especially with hooded lids and mature skin, eyeshadow tends to settle into the crease throughout the day. To keep your eye make-up looking fresh all day long, it’s worth adding one extra step – setting it in place.
After applying your make-up, use a fluffy brush to lightly dust a small amount of translucent setting powder over your eyelids – just a touch to keep the look natural. The powder absorbs excess shine and moisture without drying out the skin, helping to prevent eyeshadow from creasing throughout the day.
Conclusion
Naturally Conceal Hooded Lids for a Bright, Radiant Look
With the right technique, you can easily enhance hooded lids and visually lift your eye area. The key is using soft shades, fine lines and gently blended transitions that open up your gaze while keeping the look natural and effortless.
Small tweaks, big impact. Your eyes look more open, awake and radiant – naturally you. The best part: you don’t have to do everything at once. Try things step by step to see which techniques and shades suit you and your everyday routine, and find your own signature look.

Alles in allem stellen die sympathischen Schwestern, sehr gute Produkte her .
