Perfectly Curled Lashes: 6 Mascara Tips
Mascara is one of the absolute essentials in every Foundation routine – and with the right tips, it becomes a real beauty booster! In this article, you’ll learn 6 tricks to perfectly highlight your lashes.

1. Pay attention to durability
Before you start applying, make sure your Mascara is still fresh. Every product has an expiration date, which you can find on the packaging. Mascara often contains a high water content – the perfect environment for bacteria. After the expiration date, it can start to flake or irritate your eyes. Also important: when you pull out the wand, avoid pumping motions. This lets more air into the container, which dries out the Mascara faster and causes clumping. Instead, simply pull the wand out and apply the Mascara directly.

2. Prepare and separate lashes
Another key to perfectly applied Mascara is proper preparation. Comb your lashes with a clean brush before applying Mascara. This separates them optimally and allows the Mascara to coat each lash evenly. It prevents unsightly clumping and creates a natural look.
3. The right technique: Find out what works for you!
There are different methods to apply Mascara – and each suits different needs and lash types. What works perfectly for one person might not suit another. That’s why it’s important to try various techniques to find the method that achieves your desired effect.
- Zigzag technique: Place the Mascara wand at the lash base and move it upward in a slight zigzag motion. This technique helps separate lashes and prevents clumping, making them look more voluminous.
- Lash base technique: This method creates more fullness and density. Place the brush multiple times at the base of the lashes and move it back and forth before pulling it upward. This thickens the lash line and creates a more intense look.
- Roll technique: Place the wand close to the lash base and slowly roll it upward. This technique may feel unusual at first but ensures a more even result without clumping.
4. Double layer for more volume
A real volume boost is achieved by applying a second layer of Mascara. The trick is to apply the second layer before the first one is completely dry. This intensifies the effect and adds extra length and volume to your lashes – for a radiant, expressive look!
5. Gentle removal
To keep your lashes healthy and full in the long term, proper removal is especially important. Avoid rubbing hard and use a gentle makeup remover pad. A tip: fold the pad and carefully remove makeup along the lash line to thoroughly remove Mascara residues there as well. This prevents finding mascara traces in the morning and unnecessarily stressing your lashes.

6. The right color: Brown or Black Mascara
The choice between brown and Black Mascara depends not only on personal taste but also on the desired effect. Black Mascara is a classic – it gives lashes maximum expressiveness and creates an intense, dramatic look. Ideal for evening Foundation or when you want to emphasize your eyes especially. Brown Mascara, on the other hand, looks softer and more natural. It’s perfect for fair skin types, blond or reddish hair – or if you prefer a subtle eye Foundation during the day. Especially for mature skin, brown Mascara can make the gaze appear gentler and fresher without losing definition.
Our tip: Try both variants and decide depending on the occasion, mood, or outfit!

Liebe Margret,
