Eyeliner with Wing Make-up - Over 40 and Droopy Eyelids
Do you want to draw an eyeliner with a wing but have a beginning hooded eyelid? No problem! With the following tips, you can create a beautiful eyeliner with a wing.
We women over 40 almost all know the problem: over the years, the movable eyelid is not as visible as it was a few years ago. The eyelids become wrinkled and the excess skin covers the lid. But that doesn’t mean you can’t draw a beautiful eyeliner with a wing. We’ll show you a few simple tricks to instantly create a beautiful wing.
What exactly is a wing? A wing is an eyeliner that extends backward, so to speak, bending upward. This visually lifts your eye area and emphasizes your outer lashes. It’s a very beautiful effect and gives your eyes a lovely expression. Many do this with a liquid eyeliner, but that is very difficult and requires a lot of practice. We’ll show you how to draw a beautiful wing with a soft Eyeliner.
The problem: With older skin, the eyelids become more wrinkled and everything sags downward. Also, the skin may be oilier and the eyeliner doesn’t hold as well.
Tip #1: Eyeshadow Primer
Pat your eyelid with a tissue to remove any oil residue. If you use an eye cream in the morning, be sure to let it absorb well so the color can hold on your lid. And most importantly, start with an eyeshadow primer. This way, your eyeliner will last much better and won’t smudge.
Tip #2: The Eyeliner Color
Don’t use a Black eyeliner, as it looks too harsh. Instead, use a dark, neutral shade that is a bit lighter than black, for example the Eyeliner Aubergine 129. This looks softer but still beautifully emphasizes your eyes.
Tip #3: Drawing the Wing
First, draw your eyeliner normally along the upper lash line, but don’t start right at the inner corner of the eye; start where your pupil begins. At the last outer lash, bend sharply upward. It’s important to go very steeply upward because only then do you get the beautiful lifting effect. Apply the wing in small short strokes, not as one continuous line. If you lift your eyes or eyebrows now, the wing will look very steep and unnatural. But if you look straight ahead normally, it looks completely natural.
If you have trouble applying the eyeliner, use the pencil like a stamp. You basically stamp your eyeliner where you want it. When applying, make sure you don’t lift your eyes but look straight into the mirror. The hooded eyelid is practically ignored and stamped over.
If you lift your eyes now, you will probably see gaps in the wing due to the hooded eyelid. In the following picture, you see the comparison: in the top image, the eyeliner looks normal; in the bottom image, the eyes are lifted and the wing goes very steeply upward, is patchy, and not applied strongly.
You can easily fix this now. You can lift your eye or hold the skin up with your finger. You don’t have to draw the color as a line; you can also stamp over the gaps and make the eyeliner a bit stronger.
This way, you quickly have a wing drawn even if you have a hooded eyelid. Your eyes are visually lifted and you look young and fresh.

Liebes cosline-Team,
ich (55 J.) schminke mich seit dem ich 16 Jahre bin, auch mit namhaften Produkten. Mit den Wechseljahren wurde meine Haut noch trockener und ich kam gar nicht mehr zurecht bis ich eure Produkte entdeckte. Unglaublich wie sich das Make-up der Haut anpasst, ich brauche allerdings noch eine Creme darunter. Kajal und Lidschatten halten den ganzen Tag und verlaufen nicht. Großes Lob und Dankeschön! Hallo zusammen,
ich habe mir schon ein paar Dinge bei euch bestellt und bin sehr zufrieden. Allerdings muss ich noch ein bissel üben was den Lidschatten betrifft, da ich auch beginnende Schlupflider habe. Ich bin jetzt 51 Jahre alt und möchte vom Schminken her mal was anderes haben. Da ich arbeiten gehe, muss es auch recht schnell gehen.
Ich habe große braune Augen und benutze am liebsten auch Brauntöne oder auch hellere Töne. Aber wie schminke ich meine großen Augen so das die nicht noch größer wirken???

@HANNELORE – Liebe Hannelore, zuerst einmal vielen Dank für dein Kommentar :) Das Firming Make-Up ist nach dem Öffnen 24 Monate haltbar. Hast du das Make-Up schon vor 2 Jahren gekauft? Wenn es noch innerhalb der haltbaren Zeit liegt kann es daran liegen, dass du eventuell zu viel davon aufträgst. Wir empfehlen nur eine ganz geringe Menge auf das Gesicht aufzutragen und einzuklopfen. Es sollte wirklich nur eine dünne Schicht sein. Falls du Stellen im Gesicht hast, die besonders gut abgedeckt werden sollen, benutze nicht noch mehr Make-Up sondern zusätzlich den Make-Up Duo Stick. Liebe Damen ,ich habe vor längerer Zeit von Ihnen ein Make-Up erhalten. Ich habe immer das Gefühl ich hätte eine starre Maske auf . Ich creme das Gesicht mit einer guten Gesichtscreme ein , laß sie ca 15.Min. Einwirken
U. Gebe dann das Make-Up drauf .. Ich bin 79 Jahre alt u. Habe sehr trockene Haut . Was mache ich falsch ???

@HANNELORE – Liebe Hannelore, danke für dein Kommentar :) Umso kühler es ist, desto härter sind tatsächlich auch die Minen. Eigentlich müssten sich die Stifte ganz einfach auftragen lassen. Versuch es gerne mal damit, die Stifte irgendwo zu lagern, wo es etwas wärmer ist :)

Ich 73 , Schlupflied, Brillenträgerin.
Mein Problem…die Kajal oder Augenstiefte sind zu fest und man sieht die Farben kaum. Vor allem bei Champagner und Auberginen. Mein Badezimmer ist kühl, würde es helfen wenn ich die Stifte in einem beheizten Raum unterbringen?
